Enjoy your day tour from Cairo to the Mediterranean coast to explore Alexandria on a private day tour. Get experience about Alexandria from your Egyptologist guide and check out the city’s sightseeing as Pompey’s Pillar, the citadel of Qaitbay, the Roman catacombs, and the modern Library of Alexandria.
Our private Egyptologist will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo at 7:00 AM to accompany you in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle to start your private day tour to Alexandria. After 3 hours of driving, you will arrive at Alexandria.
You will start your day tour at the Catacomb, which has three levels underground with beautiful reliefs depict the mixture that happened between the Greco-Roman and the ancient Egyptian styles. After that, you will go ahead to Pompey’s Pillar, which has nothing to do with Pompey, and our guide will tell you the reason.
Next, go head to the Citadel of Qaitbay, the Ottoman-era fortress built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria (one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World).
Then we stop for lunch including fish, chicken, or vegetarian options.
After lunch, move ahead to the new library of Alexandria.
Note: Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays and every public holiday. To enter the reading area, you will need to purchase a ticket.
Then go back to Cairo.
